Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and what we do with it. Short, because there is not much.
Who we are
Block Dexter LLC ("Block Dexter", "we") is a Texas limited liability company providing blockchain advisory and engineering services. This policy covers blockdexter.com and the enquiries you send us through it. Questions go to info@blockdexter.com.
What we collect
When you use the contact form we receive your name, your email address, the option you pick under "What is needed" and the message you write. The form is handled by a script on our own server and sent straight to our inbox as an email. That email also records the IP address and browser type of the connection it came from, so we can spot abuse. No third-party form service sees your message. We keep it only as email and do not store submissions in a database.
To stop automated spam, the server keeps a count of submissions per connection for one hour. The count is stored against a one-way hash, not the IP address itself, and is discarded after the hour.
Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and capacity purposes. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell data.
Why we use it
To reply to your enquiry, to scope and deliver an engagement if we agree one, and to keep the site secure. Our legal basis where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, and performance of a contract once one exists.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and, where they lead to an engagement, for the life of that engagement plus the retention period our accountants and insurers require. Server logs are rotated by our hosting provider on their standard schedule.
Sharing
We share information only with the service providers that make the site and our email work (web hosting and email hosting), with professional advisers under confidentiality, and where the law requires it. Providers may be located outside your country, including in the United States.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Email info@blockdexter.com and we will act on the request within the period the law allows.
Cookies
When you first visit, a notice asks whether you accept cookies. Your answer is stored in your browser's local storage under the name bd-consent so the notice does not come back. That is the only thing the site itself stores, and it is strictly necessary to remember your choice. You can change it at any time from the "Cookies" link in the footer, or by clearing your browser's site data.
Analytics cookies are used only if you choose "Accept". At the time of this policy no analytics service is installed; if we add one, it will load only after that choice, this section will name it, and choosing "Essential only" will keep it off. We set no advertising cookies and no cookies that follow you to other sites.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy on this page with a new effective date.
